Shipping wheels for the mining industry
A customer in the mining industry needed temporary wheels to replace the standard rubber tires and rims on mining vehicles during rail transport – this lowers the machine’s overall height for passage under bridges. CIM Metals manufactured these temporary rail shipping wheels from 0.750” carbon steel using our high tolerance CO2 laser cutting system. Four of the finished parts, complete with centre cutout and bolt hole pattern, were ready for shipping within 12 hours.
